The long runs are the hardest to start mentally, but they are always the most rewarding when you finish. They take up a long portion of the day and effect the rest of the day, but these are where you feel that "runner's high"

Nothing like a no-nonsense 7 mile run to keep the legs fresh and the motivation high. I think I am beginning to understand the whole "runner's high" thing, but I will keep you posted...

Running a half marathon can take a small toll on you body for the next few days, who would have thought! But I powered through and still felt relatively good for todays run (which I did a day late).

Not only did I have 14 miles today, but I slapped that 14 miles in the face. I felt good throughout the entire run, and was able to maintain a solid pace for the entire duration. feeling good going into week 8 of training.

This whole running thing is starting to get pretty enjoyable. After last week I was starting to dread the long runs. But now, my body and mind are feeling great. I still would not say I am excited for the long run tomorrow, but I am not dreading it. A step in the right direction.

If last run was my worst run, then today was my best. I felt amazing, my body felt amazing, and I ran at my fastest tempo pace yet. The difference maker has been the stretching protocol I have been sticking to. We will see how this week's long run goes.

The run today did not go well. The injury behind my knee really started to act up as I pushed the pace faster than last time. My right calf and hamstring feel tight, so it is time to focus on stretching and ice / heat treatment so I can continue my training properly.

Today was a 12 mile run where I felt my first challenge during the marathon training. The milage was heavy, and it took a toll on my body. As a result, it is time to start dialing in the training and diet as my weekly milage increases.
